Sicily & Savile offers expert alterations on suits, jackets, trousers, shirts and dresses at our Parkhurst atelier — regardless of where the garment was originally bought. Our master tailors apply the same precision to a chain-store suit as to a bespoke commission. A well-altered garment fits the way the original maker hoped it would.

Alterations We Do Best

Suit jackets — sleeve length, shoulder narrowing, body taper, back drape, lapel re-roll, button move.
Trousers — waist in/out, hem length, taper, crotch lift, seat reshape, cuff add/remove.
Shirts — collar adjust, sleeve length, body taper, dart insertion, cuff resize.
Dresses & blouses — hem, waist, bust, shoulder, sleeve.
Specialty — wedding-dress alterations, school blazer fitting, restoration of vintage tailoring.

Turnaround Times

Most alterations are returned within 7 to 14 days. Urgent work (single-job same-week return) can usually be arranged for a small premium — call ahead if your event is close.

Bring the garment in — walk in during opening hours, or book a fitting slot online.
Try it on with our tailor — we mark and pin every adjustment together so there are no surprises.
Written quote and turnaround — agreed before any cloth is cut.
Collect or arrange delivery — and a final try-on to confirm the fit.

When to Alter vs Re-commission

Most off-the-peg suits have enough cloth in their seams to be taken in by two sizes and let out by one. If your weight has changed dramatically, or if the shoulder is fundamentally wrong (the most expensive thing to fix), we’ll tell you honestly whether you’re better off altering or commissioning a fresh bespoke suit. We earn your trust by being straight about it.

Alterations are priced per job after the fitting. Typical ranges:

Trouser hem: from R150
Jacket sleeve shortening: from R350
Jacket body taper: from R650
Full suit overhaul (sleeves, body, trousers): from R1,500
